Snow Day!

Snow, in Vegas?!
It happened on Wednesday and we loved it!
Some snobby New Englanders (you know who you are) called it "picnic weather", but to desert dwellers like myself, this was a full-blown snow storm.
The kids pulled out every piece of snow gear we own, which wasn't much.

Chandler and his buddies built this snowman near our house. So they had to use every piece of snow available in the area (notice the bare grass around it!), it's still a real snowman, right?!
Cole and Chandler

Okay, this our backyard the next morning, Thursday:( The same day the school district declared a "Snow Day". Now this is one the snobby New Englanders can laugh at.

Not much of a "Snow Day" huh?
This is Madison and her friend enjoying a day off for, snow???
They don't even have jackets on!

Chandler and his friends decided to play a little football in the sun, I mean snow :)

Oh well, it was a nice day off. All the snow gear had some time in the sun to dry out before being put away. It could be another 30 years before we need to pull it out again!

Holiday Season 2008

I spent Thanksgiving this year with my family in Arizona.
I absolutely loved spending time with my niece Callie.
(I think Maggie got a little jealous!)
Callie is an amazing miracle.

This is Maggie and Callie kissing, something Callie loves to do!

These are five of my favorite people decorating the tree.
They are getting so big that it's tough to see the tree.
(We do have a bigger tree in the front room)

Maggie even got to help this year!

We ADORE this little girl!
She makes the holidays even more fun for all of us.
Santa says, "Ho, Ho, Ho!", lights and decorations are "cute",
all treats are "mmmmm!" and she likes to take baby Jesus from his manger
and put him in her mouth. You can get much more holiday spirit than that!
Merry Christmas!

Disneyland 2008

Here are some pictures from our recent trip to Disneyland.
We had lots of fun!

We ate at Goofy's Kitchen for breakfast on our first day.
Maggie enjoyed the characters from a distance only.

She's not sure what to think of Princess Jasmine!

Goofy and Chandler.

Chandler took this picture of "the girls".

Maggie liked the carousel.

Hannah and Maggie waiting in line for the Dumbo ride.

Madison and Chandler on the Dumbo ride.
(they went on all these kiddie rides just to be with Maggie)

This is what I did most of the time, waited.
There aren't many rides for expectant mothers!

We were there on Halloween Day.
I think Madison liked the pumpkin guy a little too much.

Chandler always likes to stop at the Shooting Gallery.

So does Joe.
So HOT.

So NOT HOT. (jk babe)
Have you ever seen a person laying on the ground at Disneyland?!

Maggie playing in the water in Bug's Land.
This is something my older kids reminded me that I would have NEVER allowed them to do at Disneyland. (I wouldn't have)
The Ladybug ride.

Joe joined Hannah and Chandler on THE slowest bumper cars in the world!

More fun on the carousel ride.

Madison just finished her first season of volleyball at Shadow Ridge High School.
Here she is with her coach, Coach Trace, after their team took first place for freshman at a tournament.
They finished the season 14-6.
Madison mostly played outside hitter.

Madison is #11 .

Go Maddy!
We loved watching her play and can't wait for next season.

Maggie's Visit to the Pumpkin Patch

We stopped by a Pumpkin Patch while in California last week. Good pick Maggie. I guess she knows we're on a budget!
Ok. I don't know why this one is sideways, and it's one of my favorites!

She loves pumpkins or "pum-pums" as she calls them.

Walking with Daddy to find more pumpkins.

Kissing the pumpkin good-bye!

Callie's Yard Sale~ October 18,2008

This is a picture of our sweet Callie taken here in Las Vegas just a couple of weeks before her accident.
Zach and his friend Preston loading boxes for the big sale.
Hannah baking cookies to sell at the yard sale.
Bailey did lots of work and used it for one of her YW service projects!
Megan and Rick stayed the entire day.
Faun is showing off some of our quality items.
We sold ALL of our "Cookies For Callie" made by Hannah and other treats made by Cheyenne Nelson. Thanks ladies!
Kade and Chandler were in charge of the lemonade and bake sale.
Joe, Faun and Megan helping out.
Megan, Erin and Faun. "We love you Callie!"

Last Saturday, Faun and I had a yard sale to raise a little money for our niece Callie Butler. This whole thing would not have been possible without the help of lots of other people. We received many, many donations from friends, family, and church members who heard about Callie's story and wanted to help. So many people were involved that I couldn't possibly list all their names! I do want all of you (you know who you are) to know how much we appreciate all of your time and service. The sale was lots of fun and we earned $615.00! We know this won't even put a dent in Callie's medical bills but it might help Dana and Jeff's family with travel costs, food, Christmas or whatever they want to use it for. Callie's story is an inspiration to us all and we want her and her family to know how much they are thought of and loved!

Our Mexico Trip

Maggie enjoyed playing in the sand and later, eating it!
Maggie and Daddy.
I preferred the warm water.
Hannah, Zach, Madison, Chandler & Maggie!

Our Mexico Trip

We took a little trip to Rosarito Beach last month with the kids. The beach was beautiful and we had lots of fun playing together!
We rented quads on the beach. This is Zach looking very cool. (Notice the Spy sunglasses. We purchased them from a nice Mexican selling them on the beach for $10. I became a much better negotiator only hours later. I totally could have had them for half that price!)
Chandler also looking very cool.
Hannah is getting some artwork done on her foot. Don't worry, it's only temporary!
Baywatch has nothing on my girl Madison! All the big kids enjoyed body surfing. Frankly, it made me very nervous. Sharks and currents are no good!
